These are the real people, the housed and the homeless: A senior, struggling with mental illness and recently evicted, wakes from a cold night in her car. A young mom hustles her children past the dilapidated vehicle on their way to school, hoping they won’t notice the person inside. The mother asks if the streets are safe for her family; the elderly woman wonders if she will ever live inside again.

In another part of town, a homeless man eats a free breakfast at a church and then returns to his tent tucked near the freeway, only to find his home has been wiped out, as if a tsunami... More
